Oh... I don't really know. I go into a trance of sorts and start- well, essentially reading a statement that was never given. I've been told my eyes go cloudy and I do very good impressions of the subject. [he shakes his head] The worst part about it is it almost feels like home, in a weird way, when it happens. Muscle memory from recording so many statements, I suppose.
What about you? I haven't actually seen this plant trick of yours.
You should keep a tape recorder on you. Start- I dunno, recording them if you can or something. Do you remember them at all when you're done? And, um, it's not that interesting.

Not a bad idea... and I do remember it. Frankly it can be a little awkward, given the information is quite often very personal. The last time I did it I got the statement of an imPort and how much he cared about this other man... emotional entanglements are exhausting. I don't know how people handle the constant drama.
