And I was asleep for the last two weeks or so. So you only missed the first half of the month, really.

I was sleeping, too. Been doing that a lot, lately. But still - I didn't want you to think I'd ghosted you on purpose or something. Promise Wardens aren't just all arseholes.

And it's good to know that you weren't just avoiding me. I've had a few people have a bad reaction to me.

Why would people have a bad reaction to you?

Because I'm a devil.

It upsets people.

Also because sometimes, I talk about going to hell. And it doesn't upset me.

That upsets them more.

A devil? I thought that was kind of a- you know, um.

[ or maybe he doesn't know. he's trying so hard to keep judgment out of his voice, and he's mostly succeeding. ]

I mean, I met someone else who lived in the Underworld? That's probably not... too dissimilar?

I don't know. I've never met an Underworld devil so it might just not be a thing in my world.

Though you have to say what you think it is before I can explain.

I mean, we've got the Devil? Like, I dunno, big-D Devil, Satan? But I guess also people use devil to mean... demonic underlings... or something? [ god help him all he can think of are the two weird little devil dudes in hercules ] I guess I've never really thought about it.

Where I'm from, once someone is afraid of something, a devil is created for it. And the more fear there is for that thing, the stronger the devil is. Sometimes people summon a certain devil but usually, once they get strong enough, they end up on Earth.

I deal with contracts.

But it's a little like a true name in a manga story. I don't just share that with anyone.
