She's never met Martin before, but she's done her research. She knows what he looks like, and she knows who he is to Jon-- not that Jon's been particularly shy about it. She's been curious about him, what kind of a person Jon Sims would be, well, together with.
She's surprised to see him up and about, considering he's been in a coma for so long. She sees him when she's carrying out new servings of curry during her dinner shift, her hair pulled back, an apron over her perfectly lovely jeans and blouse. She doesn't know if heknows about her, yet, so she feels safe to wait until after dinner to approach him. She's still folding her apron into a neat square when she walks up to Martin, smiling.
Life on the barge after waking up has been - well, complicated. He's asked so much of Jon about what's going on back home that he hasn't actually gotten around to talking about inmates just yet, so when Eliazabeth approaches him after dinner, he just hastily makes sure that there's no curry on his chin and smiles at her.
"Yes, I- er." He's going to look cautiously apologetic. "Have we met? I'm sorry."

"We haven't, don't worry. I can come back later, let you finish your meal in peace "
